I Made It!
I completed my third Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse this past weekend and had my final colonic today, which wraps things up. Despite my worries and fears of doing the cleanse this time by myself, it was successful 🙂
I passed about 300 stones with about a dozen or so marble sized. Most of the stones were pea green, which means they came out of my liver. I feel great today – awake and alive 🙂 The ache from my shoulders and lower back is gone as well as the consistent headache I’ve had the past couple of weeks.
I did some things differently this time with positive results so I’m going to share for future reference…
1.) Best to Cleanse Shortly After My Period
I started the prep for this liver and gallbladder cleanse on the fourth day of my cycle with the actual cleansing happening on days nine and ten. The last couple of cleanses I did in the last two weeks of my cycle. This resulted in my period showing up right after my first cleanse and a spotting for a few days up to my period after my second cleanse.
By doing it at the beginning of my cycle, I’ve been able to enjoy the positive results, rather than moving right into my period. Another added benefit of doing the cleanse right after my period is the elimination of the possibility that I may be pregnant.
During the second half of my cycle I am more likely to experience insomnia. This time I was able to sleep through the night after drinking the oil mixture – a first for me.
2.) Apple Juice All Week = Way Too Much Sugar
This go round I drank 32 ounces of apple juice everyday, rather than supplementing some of the doses with malic acid as I did in the last two cleanses. This equates to about 100 grams of sugar everyday – in addition to the other sugar I was consuming. Yikes!
Honestly it’s easier to drink the apple juice over super sour malic acid so this decision was based on my taste buds’ preference. I am paying for this decision with cracked, bleeding fingers and hands right now. Ouch.
Culprit? Candida. My eczema like symptoms flare with too much sugar and the weakening of my immune system following this cleanse is not helping. Next time I’m going to add the malic acid back in as last time I was successful splitting the doses between apple juice and malic acid.
I’ve added probiotics and Vitalzym back into my regime the last couple of days, and am really watching my sugar intake and other candida feeding foods. Hopefully I can get the candida under control soon so my hands heal.
3.)Â Oranges and Lemons Go Down Easier
My biggest dread about the cleanse is drinking the oil and juice mixture.  The first two cleanses I drank olive oil with grapefruit, which just made me gag! I ended up throwing up the oil mixture a couple hours after consuming it. I’ve never been a fan of grapefruit and haven’t been able to stand the smell and taste of olive oil since 🙂
This time I mixed up organic orange and lemon juice (since no organic grapefruits were available) with a new brand of organic olive oil. Surprisingly it went down pretty easy and was almost tasty? I did add in a little organic honey in between sips to kill the taste of the olive oil.
As mentioned, I was able to sleep through the night without the gross taste of grapefruit in my throat. Yuck. Think I will continue with oranges and lemons 🙂
4.) I Can Do It On My Own
Admittedly I was worried about doing this cleanse by myself. Doing the past two cleanses with my husband made the process not so bad. We were on the same level, sharing similar experiences. His support made it all seem not so crazy.
At the same time, a part of me felt guilty for dragging him through the process with me, like I was taking away a piece of his weekend fun to poo out stones, lol. Doing the cleanse by myself allowed me to focus on myself and have a little help from my husband who was not cleansing 🙂
The process really wasn’t as bad as I made it out to be in my mind and I only lost a little bit of my time that in the big scheme of things is worth the result of my inner healing.
5.) Eat Light Following the Cleanse
I learned this lesson on my last cleanse when I ate a pretty big meal at about 2PM including chicken, rice, beans and vegetables and then later in the night I consumed an entire gluten free pizza with spinach. Needless to say my digestion was not happy and continued to fall off track up until this third cleanse.
This time I stuck to liquids on Sunday (the day of passing stones). In the afternoon I drank quite a bit of water and my first “meal” was a liver friendly vegetable juice – dandelion greens, cucumber, celery, and parsley. I followed this with a butternut squash soup that was purred into just liquid.
Yesterday (the day following the passage of stones) I continued with primarily vegetable juice and soup and a few strawberries and celery with a little hummus. Today (two days following the passage of stones) I had juice in the morning and was back to eating normal by lunch time.
My digestion feels so much better and I’ve already had quite a bit of movement in lieu of my primarily liquid diet the past few days 🙂
6.) Live Life to the Fullest – Pay it Forward
On Sunday afternoon, after passing most of my stones, I logged onto Facebook and was faced with very sad news. Andreas Moritz, The author of the Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse passed away. This news is confirmed on his website for the Ener-Chi Wellness Center.
I’ve continued to read this announcement over the course of the last couple of days in hopes of hearing more news as to how he passed. I was not aware that he was sick. A sickness remains in my stomach as the thought of his death continues to creep into my mind.
Since reading the Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse, I’ve followed Andreas Moritz on Facebook and always enjoyed reading his posts. He was a tremendous leader in the wellness community and will be missed greatly.
His passing reminds me that life is short. Things can really end tomorrow. Today. This reminder pushes me to continue writing as well. I am in the process of writing a book, and need to keep working on it. What if things end tomorrow? I don’t want people just reading my unfinished first draft 🙂
Is there something that you’ve been meaning to do but haven’t? The time is now to share your creative energy – to leave behind a piece of you. Tell the ones around you that you love them dearly as much as you can. You never know what may happen. They could be gone tomorrow.
Regardless of his physical passing, Andreas’ words remain in his writings in his multitude of books, blogs and YouTube videos. His messages will live on in the wonderful word of the Internet. I know that I shall continue to turn to his writings for guidance on my own natural healing journey.
RIP Andreas Moritz.
On The Positive Side?
I feel great! Yay! The prep and cleanse were worth it. My digestion feels so much better. I’m looking forward to seeing how this all affects the remainder of my cycle. I am one step closer to eliminating all the stones in my liver and with the passage of a number of large stones, I am optimistic that positive changes are on the horizon.
I am happy that I was able to learn from Andreas Moritiz and share in his thoughts and wellness tips through his Facebook posts. The announcement of his passing states that he was working on four books which will be released in the future – so his teachings are not over 🙂
My daughter is having the same problem, with gagging and throwing up the oil and cannot drink it. I am wondering if the sweetener changes the effectiveness of it, but I guess not. I am thinking the tartness is part of the cleanse. I used safflower oil which went down much better. I have also read if you use a large straw, it goes down better. Thanks for the information!
What is the recipe/ratio? Thanks
