I feel the chaos that’s erupted in the US this week from a nation divided. The results of the presidential election were clear on that. Division.
Because of these results many have chosen, consciously or not, to bend toward fear.
It’s hard not to pick up on this.
I feel the unrest around me. I feel the fear. I feel the sorrow. As a highly sensitive empath, I’ve substantially picked up on all these emotions this week and it has been super draining.
Have you felt that way too?
I write to you today to ask if you’ll join me in an attempt to change that ripple of energy.
The Collective Unconsciousness
I’ve spent the past couple of weeks reading Dr. Jung‘s autobiography: Memories, Dreams, Reflections. One of my biggest takeaways from Dr. Jung’s teachings is the idea of a collective unconsciousness.
Jung theorized that our personal psychology is part of a collective psyche, which moves according to laws entirely different from those of our own consciousness.
Within our own awareness we have a direct connection with a unified field of energy. The energy we put out is either polluting the planet or healing it.
The Maharishi Effect
Through prayer, meditation, positive intentions and joy we can change this collective unconsciousness and create a ripple effect of peace in the world. This has been proven with studies of the Maharishi Effect.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a spiritual teacher who founded the Transcendental Meditation movement.
He predicted that if one percent of the population meditated that this would produce measurable improvements in the quality of life for the whole population.
He believed that by raising the vibration in this collective energy field with joy and calming energy that this would bring increased peace and harmony to the rest of the community.
When people meditate together with shared intentions for peace, their alpha brain waves synchronize. This allows people who do not meditate to still receive the same properties in their subconscious mind.
Maharishi’s theory was shown correct in a study published in 1976. (See more on that study here.) A group of monks were sent to a community full of crime. The number of monks that were sent represented one percent of that community’s total population. As the monks practiced meditation within the community, over time, the crime rate dropped by an incredible 16%!
The Maharishi Effect works because the meditating group’s alpha brain waves are functioning at a powerful level, able to pass through to the hearts, minds and actions of others in the community.
So, when a much needed collection of meditators come together, our practice can help bring order to the chaos ensuing in the world today. By meditating and activating your alpha brain waves you send loving vibrations out into the world.
Oh, how we need that right now!
On the Positive Side?
If you make joy and love your priority, and tune into these daily through your meditation, not only will this benefit you, it will also have a huge impact on the people and circumstances in your life and on the lives of people you don’t know.
You have the power to alter the energy field of this collective unconsciousness. With positive energy we can help bring healing to all those around us. Once you tap into this power, others will feel elevated by your presence.
I know sometimes that this world can make you feel powerless. The hate, violence and chaos in the world is overwhelming. It’s time to step into your power. You can have a much bigger impact than you think.
Will you join me?
