I’ve been reading Anthony William’s newest book called Medical Medium Life-Changing Foods: Save yourself and the ones you love with the hidden healing powers of fruits and vegetables.
I totally connected with Anthony in his first book, Medical Medium. He opened my eyes to many things and his suggestions have helped me tremendously over the past few months.
A big one: celery juice (learn more here).
The Healing Powers of Fruits & Vegetables
In his new book, Anthony goes deeper into the immense healing power of different fruits, veggies, herbs, spices & wild foods. I can sense Spirit in his words, as he describes these healing properties.
These foods were given to us by a greater creator in divine design. These are the foods we were meant to eat. If you want to feel better, eat them often!
I skipped ahead to see which specific foods he suggests adding in to help with endometriosis.
Here’s what I found…
5 Foods to Eat to Help with Endometriosis
#1.) Avocados
Yay! I loved to see this on the list. I’m a huge fan of avocados. Anthony calls them the “mother fruit”. They’re nurturing to your insides. Adding them in is a true sign of self-love.
Avocados are anti-inflammatory and assist in digestive healing.
As a healthy source of omega-6 fatty acids, they can help restore your central nervous system, which is key to calming endo.
To note: avocados have low pesticide residue, so they’re a cleaner choice if you’re not able to buy organic.
#2.) Berries
For the love of berries! This includes, but is not limited to, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, specifically wild blueberries, which Anthony claims are one of the most healing foods on this earth (get the frozen ones).
Berries are filled with antioxidants. They’re an excellent source of iron, magnesium, selenium, zinc, molybdenum, potassium, calcium, omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. These are all things that can help when you have endometriosis.
Plus, according to Anthony, berries have hidden components that stop excess adrenaline from causing damage to your organs. So, add in berries if you’re feeling stressed out!
Anthony claims that berries can be especially helpful if you’re feeling distracted, unfocused, foggy headed or confused. Berries help to calm & re-center you.
To note: It’s a good idea to buy organic berries, since conventional ones are grown with a lot of pesticides.
#3.) Grapes
Anthony starts out by stating that,
Grapes should not be misunderstood as being too high in carbs, sugars or calories to be good for us. It’s just the opposite.
I’m glad he cleared that up. I’ve strayed from grapes because you hear about how high in sugar they are. I love the permission to go for it!
Grapes support your kidneys and liver: two key organs that help to filter toxins and endo-promoting estrogen from your body.
Grapes hold healing compounds that grab onto heavy metals and old traces of DDT residue you may have picked up from generations before.
To note: grapes are heavily sprayed with pesticides, so it’s worth it to opt for organic ones.
#4.) Kiwi
Anthony says that kiwis are good for blood sugar regulation. They contain a high-quality sugar source that provides valuable glucose to feed the neurons in your brain.
So, they’re a great addition to help with stress.
Kiwis contain a powerful vitamin C that helps to remove harmful components from your body + boost your immune system. They can help with digestive discomfort such as gas and bloating.
Kiwis are an amazing little fruit. Have you ever stopped to really look at the inside? Anthony compares it to outer space!
No other food contains a miraculous picture of the stars, planets, mysteries and miracles of the world—of which our earth is just one tiny part.
~ Anthony William
To note: kiwis are not grown with as many pesticides, so it’s Ok if you’re not able to get organic.
#5.) Potatoes
This includes white & sweet potatoes. White potatoes? Say What?
White Potatoes
As with many of the other foods Anthony suggests, I’ve tried to steer clear of white potatoes because they’re touted as being high in sugar.
Anthony debunks this myth and says that potatoes actually help regulate blood sugar.
Now hold on one second. Don’t go run off and get crazy… For the love of French fries! hehe 🙂
The oils that many potatoes are fried in is the problem, not the potatoes themselves. So, avoid the fried stuff, or the potatoes that are covered with butter, sour cream, cheese and/or bacon bits, as that defeats the purpose.
Potatoes are high in potassium and vitamin B6. They also house amino acids, which can help to draw out radiation from your body.
Potatoes support your liver, kidneys and soothe your nerves and digestive tract. This is all good for those of us with endometriosis.
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are nutrient powerhouses too. According to Anthony, sweet potatoes promote productive bacteria in your stomach and intestines and help to starve out unproductive bacteria and fungi that may be hanging out in your gut.
Sweet potatoes also help to remove endo-promoting estrogens from your body! They can help with sleep & if you’re hair is thinning, sweet potatoes can help promote hair growth.
Anthony says that the skin of the potato is, “one of the best nutrition sources on the planet.” So eat that part too!
Potatoes come from the ground, so eating them can help to keep you grounded and centered. This is especially helpful if you’re dealing with a disconnect from mind & body, lost in your thoughts, or taken over by anxiety or depression.
Potatoes bring you back down to a calm level. They are a true comfort food. Enjoy them!
To note: sweet potatoes are a cleaner choice when it comes to pesticides, so it’s Ok if you can’t buy them organic. White potatoes are heavily sprayed so, it’s best to go organic.
On the Positive Side?
Anthony has shifted my mind in many ways and my perspective on certain foods that I was avoiding because of false claims that they were somehow bad for you.
He’s helped me to see that all fruits and vegetables are divine gifts and these noted today are especially important for those of us with endometriosis.
So, you can eat them without guilt! And enjoy them. The sweetness is grand and healing. There need be no guilt for these healing foods.
I highly recommend picking up Anthony’s new book: Medical Medium Life-Changing Foods. He provides many more healing foods and a description of how they can help different ailments, along with simple recipes to help you incorporate them into your life.
Are you already eating these foods on a regular basis? Or were you avoiding some of them like I was? What do you think?
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
Much LOVE,
Aubree,
I recently read Anthony’s books and I’m now on the 28 day cleanse-day 8. You are only the second person I’ve ever met thatbhas healed from endometriosis and that gives me hope because up till now it’s been a bleak ride with doctors able to offer no more than heavy hormone treatments. I’m SO thankful I found you, I know it wasn’t by accident. I’ve tried subscribing to your newsletter but the page keeps popping up “page not found”. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your work!
Hi Dorothy. Great to connect with you. It’s great to hear that you’re implementing Anthony’s suggestion. He’s helped me so much! The natural holistic route has helped me a ton.
Uh oh. Where did you try to sign up for the newsletter?
People that have suffered from fluoroquinoline injury are often unable to eat nightshades. White potatoes and sweet potatoes are also high in oxalate 🙁
Hi Donna – Anthony goes a bit deeper into misconceptions about the nightshade fear in his book. Have you tried eating those foods without anything extra on them (i.e. oil, ketchup, cheese, butter, etc.)? If you’re eating them plain and still having a reaction, then Anthony says it’s because the body has an elevated pathogenic load and the fruits + veggies are causing a detox reaction.
Many nutritious foods have oxalates in them. It’s hard to avoid them all. If you have a strong digestion then oxalates shouldn’t be an issue. Anthony’s suggestion of fresh organic celery juice on an empty stomach has helped my digestion tremendously. His books have shifted my perception about a lot of foods I thought were “bad”.
Hi Aubree,
My sister has been in constant pain from endo for 10 years! No meds help and she hasn’t gotten relief. She just was diagnosed after having a laparoscopy a few months back. Do you have endo? She was doing the celery juice but no difference with that. I hope to hear from you soon ❤️
Thanks,
Daniela
Hi Daniela. Yes. I have endo.
Has she done more with her diet? I have a free course, the Endo Diet Jump-start: https://peacewithendo.teachable.com/p/endo-diet-jump-start
I also have a free guide with 25 natural pain relief strategies: peacewithendo.com/pain-relief.
Hello! Thank you! I am suffering with Endo also. I just read the Medical Medium (amazing book!) i didn’t see anything specifically about Endo in there unless I missed it? Curious if you found this info in his book or elsewhere? And YAY for white potatoes- its been 3 years! I look forward to reading more of your endo story and tips. Any suggestions for severe bloating? 🙁
Hi Katie! I’m glad that you liked Medical Medium. He doesn’t mention endo in there specifically. I heard that he was going to do a podcast show on it soon. I’m looking forward to that.
The information on this post came from his second book: Medical Medium: Life Changing Foods. It’s like a glossary of foods for different conditions. There’s also some tasty recipes inside. You can get it here: http://amzn.to/2uhxMJk
Enjoy your potatoes!
I think the connection with me is the Epstein Barr Virus. So, I’ve been following the protocol for killing that off.
