Pain. It’s the number one complaint when it comes to endometriosis. I know.
As a result, you’ve likely taken over-the-counter pain relievers like NSAID’s: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, etc… or maybe something stronger.
Problem is, these choices come with side effects that impact your body’s ability to heal.
They decrease your stomach acid, which makes it so your body doesn’t absorb the vitamins and minerals it needs to function correctly, and the food you eat doesn’t get fully digested, causing further digestive distress and immune system issues.
NSAID’s can also prevent ovulation. (See what happens when your body doesn’t ovulate here).
So, what’s the alternative? One that I’ve introduced consistently and found great success with: CBD oil.
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a compound found in the cannabis plant that doesn’t give the “high” psychoactive feeling that its counterpart THC does, and since it doesn’t have the THC, it’s legal to use throughout the United States.
Let’s explore more how CBD can help.
Endocannabinoid System & Inflammation
Your body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS), which includes protein receptors known as cannabinoid (CB) receptors.
CB1 and CB2 receptors are located throughout your body, and endogenous cannabinoids (EC) bind to these receptors.
When these receptors are stimulated it helps regulate pain, immune system response, and reduces inflammation in your body.
Studies suggest that the ECS is involved with endometriosis and the involvement of endocannabinoids could regulate growth and reduce symptoms.
The ECS system shows up in your uterus and endometrial implants. Studies have shown that ladies with endometriosis often have a deficiency in CB1 production. So, activating the CB1 receptors provides pain relief.
Supplementing with CBD oil
Your ECS doesn’t just respond to the endocannabinoids produced in your body. It also responds to external cannabinoids like the phytocannabinoid cannabidiol, or CBD.
CBD indirectly stimulates your ECS, promoting homeostasis, reduced pain sensation and decreased inflammation. This is good news for those looking for alternative pain relief.
I’ve been taking a tincture form of 1000mg of CBD oil from Joy Organics once a day and it has helped calm the pain in my body. It has also helped me to sleep better.

About Joy Organics CBD
All Joy Organics products are:
- Organic
- Grown and manufactured in the USA
- Third party lab tested
- Pharmaceutical grade
- Zero THC
- Full-spectrum profile
- Heavy metal free
Their soft gel capsules are composed of patent-pending, water-soluble phytocannabinoid-rich (PCR) hemp oil in microemulsion form. In layman’s terms that means smaller particles, which means great absorption, which directly correlates to effectiveness and quickness for relief. This is unique to Joy Organics. It can’t be found with other CBD Oils. These are great for people sensitive to the taste of oils.
On the Positive Side?
CBD oil provides another alternative to over-the-counter pain relievers that upset your digestive tract and thus your immune system. On the flip side, CBD oil actually helps your immune system, while reducing the pain response in your body.
I’ve heard from many endo sisters that CBD has been a great help for physical and mental discomforts that can come with endo.
Have you tried CBD oil? What was your experience?
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.

Much LOVE.
Are you taking 1,000 mg per day or are you taking 1 dose from the 1,000 mg bottle? The dosing of CBD is so strange. I hate the way it’s labeled. I ordered a 1,000 mg bottle. I’m having a lot of pain. Wondering where you started with your dosage.
Hi Rachel. The whole bottle is 1,000mg, so each dose is 33.33mg. I’ve been taking that once per day.
Do you know if CBD would help Interstitial Cystitis (IC) pain? I was diagnosed with IC in 1995, and have struggled with the many challenges this disease inflicts. I started a blog to share my story. Any help with be greatly appreciated.
Yes. I do think it would help.
IC has ties to the Strep bacteria. If you can get that under control you’ll feel better. Learn more here: https://peacewithendo.com/2018/08/strep-endometriosis-ic.html
Hi!
I just found your site and I am so thankful I did. I am starting cbd’s to help with my endo. I will be checking back for more holistic tips on how to cope. I am honestly so tired of getting loaded up with garbage that won’t actually help me live a normal life. I want that normal life naturally. Thanks for speaking up and showing the world that it is possible!
Hi Camille. Happy that you found me here. I hope that the CBD oil helps you, love.
I will give atry as i am tired to be on pain every day. I will ler you know. But is the dosga you are taking per day, the lowest dosage? What about if it doesnt’t calm down my pain? How do i get it shipped to Europe?
I’ve been taking the tincture form of the 1,000mg and taking a full drop full (about 33.33 mg) per day. Joy Organics does not ship to Europe, only the US. Best of luck to you!
Hello! I’ve been researching pain relievers for my 14 yr old daughter. Would this be safe to give her, considering her age? Her doctor wants to put her on birth control for paon management, but she has already had a bad reaction to the first prescription. Thanks!
Yes! The Joy Organics CBD is a great option to try. It’s THC free so you don’t get the “high” as with regular cannabis. Hope it helps her.
Hi Jennifer could you let me know if it helped your daughter please
Thank you so much for this info! My doctor has put me on a strong 3 month cycle birth control to control the endo. CBD oil has helped with the pain but I’ve read that it also contraindicates the birth control- have you found anything about this? Thank you
That’s not something I’ve heard. Are you using the pill to prevent pregnancy too?
Have you had better results with topical CBD or oral consumption?
Thanks!
Hi Amy. I use both. I love the topical for focused relief on my hips, lower back and neck. It works great. I like the tincture too, so I suppose it’s your preference.
How long did it take to feel pain relief after starting CBD?
Hi Cindy – For some people it does take some time to build up. I take it as a daily supplement, but also up dosages when I need more for pain management. I’ve switched to Joy Organic’s CBD soft gels with Curcumin, which helps more so with pain. The softgels actually absorb better than the tinctures and I feel impacts in an hour or so usually, but that’s all relative on the amount of pain!
